I would like a recordable DVD player to record things off the TV including films and and films I burn off the pc. Please can you recommend a good make? I have heard that Crown is a budget make, many thanks.

the best make is panasonic, bush or samsung

If you want a trouble free DVD recorder ,then it has to be a PANASONIC DVD RECORDER.they're not cheap for sure, you would expect to pay between £150.00- £350.00. be warned buy a cheap DVD recorder (£50.00-£95.00) expect nothing but problem's after your first year. just imagine costly repair every six month's or so.

Budget = poorly made, poor sound, poor picture. Avoid anything on the list below like the plague - it's all rubbish:

Still record everything on a video recorder Dream. Don't have Sky! I agree anyway as it is simple to use.
