Same company makes these two types of cars. Same people build the engines. So in a Lexus you actually are talking about a Toyota engine but with more horsepower (depends). Also, for the interior, Lexus is more of a luxury car. In any country, you'll find that the dealer for these two cars is the same. The technicians and mechanics are the same because the engines are the same.

So you can say that a Lexus is an upgrade of a Toyota.

They are the same company with two separate production lines. The interesting thing is that LEXUS stands for Luxury exported to the US. In addition, Lexus tested many engines before putting an engine in their first car.

Toyota Inc and Lexus Inc mean that they are two separate corporations. Yes they are operating under the same "embrella" entity, however with different names comes different corporations, shareholders etc.

Lexus is a high line toyota..they have seperate operations and even assembly lines but all is owned by toyota motor corp.....
