I started out on A NASB Ryrie study bible and I wore out the binding (i got it in hard cover). I have been a fan of the NIV study Bible as an all around good study bible for all. I do however still like the KJV and I especially Like the NKJV as well. I often read from the NLT (Life Application Study Bible) and the Message as well.

King James Version and the New Living Translation I like to compare the two. Then sometimes the NIV But the King James Version has many errors that we have been able to fix now. Because back when they translated the King James, they couldnt translate as well as we can now. And now, the newer versions like the NLT, they went back and re-translated it all. Some people on here just need to do some research on it, cause the KJV isnt the best, but still good.

Yeah, me too...I'm a big New American Standard version fan! The verb tenses are very close to the original languages, without sounding funny. I like the Revised Standard for reading. I do have a fondness for the poetry of the King James - - I like that in liturgical settings.
I have only one rule for people who want to bring their own bibles to Bible Study: "ANYTHING but the NIV" - (the "Nearly Inspired Version)

I don't have a "favorite" per se, because I use several different versions for different purposes. For example, I read The Message for pleasure. I read the KJV for study, while referencing it with the NIV and the NKJV when I come to a section I need clarification on.
I love all of them equally, for different reasons.

Know the fruits of the holy spirit; love, joy, kindness, peace, self-control, compassion, long-suffering, gentleness, calmness, courageous, just, and righteous, and the like.
Know what is from evil, anything that leads you to sin, to cause division, and the like.
When you are guiding by the holy spirit, the fruits of the spirits come along
When you are with the evil, you feel hateful, angry, there is evil thoughts, fouled-mouth, doing bad things, and the like

the actual bible.... like the real one. The one that's not supposed to get negotiated? Still haven't figured out the real difference between the sects... isn't it kinda pointless? Like i've only ever known four types (in Canada: anglican, protestant, mormon and Roman Catholic) and they were all pretty much the same cept different music.
