Not only am I willing to, I have.
My daughter knows about the various sects of Christianity, the religions of Judaism and Islam, as well as the philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism, etc.
We speak English, some French, Spanish, Arabic, and Japanese.
She seems to like Islam and Buddhism the best.
Perhaps if we teach our children, meaning everyone with children throughout the world, they might be able to live together peacefully and to the mutual benefit of all once we old farts have shuffled off this mortal coil. Let's hope.

I think there is nothing wrong with kids knowing the basics of what other faiths believe. Helps them get a long with others. You can know what others believe, but not believe it. If you teach your children your faith and give them a strong foundation, then you should not be concerned with them learning the basic beliefs of other people.

Many Christian kids are taught about the Theory of Evolution, but still believe in the Creation. I don't see how that can be different than learning about other faiths

The Fundies in the US teach their children about the other faiths. They say if you cut the arm of a member of another faith, a boiling black ichor spurts out instead of red blood, which lands on the floor and starts eating away at the plastic tile like in the ALIEN movies.

Fundies teach that the non-Christian religions are devoted to KILLING and MURDERING people 24/7, and if they are observed not to it's because the spicy food they eat is high in starch and makes them too weak to get a decent swing with a dagger...

I think that whatever religion or belief system that works for a person is what is the best. If they feel the most comfortable and devoted to a belief system then so be it.

My Chiropractor told me that when he was growing up his parents sent him to every religious meeting that they could so he would know about as many religions as possible and then make his own decision on life. I personally feel this is a good philosophy.

No- I can't teach what I don't know and don't accept as truth. Christianity is exclusive in it's object of worship. The one true God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. If I taught the other beliefs how would that benefit a child - other than confusing him / her not giving them a core foundation of beliefs.

Spelling is important too - "there beliefs" should be "their beliefs" - school teachers please take note - try to get grammar and spelling back into the curriculum.

I have always been interested in learning about other religions and faiths. I have also told my children about them. Everything I learn I tell my children. If they are interested then I go into further details if not the conversation ends. As long as my children practice a religion that does not harm themselves or others then I will have not problem with their spiritual or religious beliefs.

I dont think children should b taught any religion at all they should b allowed 2 enjoy bein innocent and carefree without havin 2 understand that any one religion is better or worse than any other. Havin an understanding of peoples origin and culture as a child could probaly have a greater impact on how they percieve other peoples beliefs as an adult.

My children are very small right now, but when they get older, I shall teach them about the basics of every belief that I know the basics of. I will encourage them to study further if they wish.

I think the whole idea of teaching a child what to believe is wrong as far as religion is concerned anyway. I think as adults they can decide for themselves what they believe. Teaching children religious beliefs, if it is your intent to make them one way or another, is brain washing.

Just teaching for the sake of knowledge is another matter and that's perfectly acceptable
