Ok so I'm 19 and not going to college. I dont have medical. And I think I have a tumor or cancer or something on the "left one" down there. I dont know what to do. Anyone know how much it would cost? I know they got the tests they have to perform, and if it was cancer or something there would be surgury like that how much you think it would cost? plus who would I go to in the first place? a urologist? (by the way I dont have a doctor either) could I just go to a walk in emergency room and get checked out? I'm so confused, advice would def. help.

There was nothing there before it was like in pefect health you could say, it like came out of no where. I have a torsion in the right one but the docs told me not to worry about that until it got to the point where I was about to lose it (good information huh? yeah I thought that was a little scary but anyway the left one was my good one now it has something)

Try an urgent-care facility - here, they're called Medicus or First Care - but if you look up Urgent Care in the phone book, you'll find it. They're often walk-in facilities.
This way you're not growing old in the ER and you won't spend as much $$$. (ER bills can run in the thousands, and many specialists charge you $300-$500 just to walk in the door!)
If there is, God forbid, something wrong, you can apply for Emergency Medicaid in this case - go to social services in your area and they'll help you. (Otherwise, you'd be looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills)

I wuold look for a county (state funded) hospital or clinic. At the very least you should be able to find a local state department of health services (DHS) and get in to a clinic that is free or sliding scale to get the problem checked out. If you have found a lump, don't automatically assume cancer, though I know it's hard not to. It can be many things, cysts, tumors (benign) etc.

You might qualify for Medicaid, in which case all costs will be covered. Another option is to check for Charitable organizations and have them pay for the treatment. You can get the names of such organizations from the hostipals. If you go to the ER, without mediacl coverage, they'll send you the bill and the amount could be anything.

She should make an appointment with an oncologist, get the treatment that is needed, and work out a payment plan afterward. Stage 1 ovarian cancer is very easy to treat, and a whole lot less expensive than treating any later stage.

It will be a few thousand dollars for just a one-time examination and a biopsy. If it turns out to be cancer the treatment will be relatively high in comparison.

This is what we use.
http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/JBurke
It’s a discount card, saving you up to 80% off service for medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescriptions. Just an example, my husband was looking into eye surgery, and his doctor was charging $5,000, we showed him our card and the price when down to $2,700. It’s great for those, like us, who can’t afford traditional insurance.
