I have been on lithium forever and yes I still have manic episodes. Usually because my does is off, I forgot to take my meds, or something big in my life has triggered it.

meds are not the end all cure - working the illness everyday is what keeps you sane -

good luck

Yes, it's possible... The meds don't "cure" the disease it merely softens the episodes... It could be the dosage/times may need updating depending on how long the person has been taking the meds.. Some meds just don't work after awhile and need to be switched... Sometimes, the brain overides the meds- or a certain situation may pre-empt an "episode"... It just depends on the person who's taking the meds... Good luck

bipolar meds will not be the miracle cure that causes you to no longer have maniac episodes. it will level out your moods yes but mainly it causes you not to swing so much but you can still have maniac episodes usually only once in a blue moon if your having a lot of them then you should probably go back to your doctor and find something else that works better.

Yes, it's possible. The meds could not be working any longer or maybe not be strong enough.
