will someone tell me how to start a fire with a magnafing glass

to start a good fire with a magnifying glass is really difficult. You would need really good kindling. Like dry grass on dry bark. If you just want to burn with the magnifying glass that's easy. You just need the a sunny day and something to burn. Just focus the light into a small perfectly circular dot on the surface you want to burn. The smaller the dot the hotter. If you have it small enough you should see smoke right away.

You need very dry tinder, fuel , clear sky, and magnifying glass

Focus the light on the tinder the sharper the focus the hotter the spot. the tinder should take off if there are no clouds.

I carry a magnesium and flint bar, (you can buy for a couple of bucks in the Walmart Sporting goods department Don't need the sun. Generally can get dry tinder started with one strike.

start with dried grass or leaves, then twigs, then small stick and get larger from there..... focus the magnified light on the grass until it is very concetrated and bright....it should start smoking immediately..then blow on it and add more grass leaves andd then sticks....
