It's part of being human. The digestive process naturally produces waste, some of which is flatus - gas. It has to be expelled. Some folks get a rather childish thrill out of being crude and holding it until they can do it noisily in a public setting. Perhaps you need a new friend...

When the child is being fed breast/bottle there isn't a good seal around the nipple causing them to get air [gas] in their tummy later causing them to "fart" and sometimes pass stool. Better burping or fixing the problem would help.

maybe because their new digestive systems are trying to adjust to all the new foods it is receiving, therefore producing more gas. Or, they are taking in too much air when they are feeding on the bottle/breast.

Babies tend to eat peas, carrots, etc. that are not processed - just cooked and pureed so their little healthy digestive systems are doing exactly what they should be doing. Just laugh and they will too.

Why are you friends with a baby? Shouldn't you be trying to find someone your own age?
