You probably can, but it's not the best line of defense. It'd be like blasting a mosquito with a rocket launcher.

Usually the first line of defense against strep is plain ol' Penicillan, second line is Zithromax.

Yes. It's an antibiotic, but not commonly prescribed for strep throat, though.
