My teenage son is trying to gain weight and was told to eat peanut butter sandwiches every night and banana's and cheese.

It's a protein.
It keeps you filled up longer..
My sisters going to school for nursing and I'm over weight so she told me to eat peanut butter.

The cool thing about PB is that even tho it has fat content, it is the fat that your body needs and thrives on, it is also easily digested and recycled into ATP, your body's natural energy source. Gobble it up, no worries, but I wouldn't eat a whole jar or anything as it can cause some poopin issues..hahahahaha..but it's good for ya so munch on.

Normal peanut butter has 16 grams if fat, but it also has 8 grams of protein so that means it is good for you, just don't eat it all the time.

It can be depending on the kind you get. Get the low-fat natural peanut butter with non-hydrogenated oils and lower sugar and you will be fine eating it in moderation.

It contains sugar and sugar tends to make one gain weight. If you just eat it once in awhile I don't think it'll do much harm.

yes if you eat a lot of it. nuts are generally healthy...they are good fats that your body needs. but be careful by eating healthy snacks that include PB like apple and PB....or peanuts alone.
