Allow the dog to meet the gardeners and show him that you accept their presence. Once the dog understands that and most dogs do so quite quickly, he will not be bothered by them except for a few warning barks when they first arrive. Locking him in a room prevents him from doing his job which is protection of his and your territory. So he get frustrated and starts running about.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/BNwiW

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

Enroll your dog into a basic obedience class. Follow through with the training.

Otherwise, shock collar (the anti-bark kind). I'm not saying set it to burnt fur and electrical meltdown, but set it so that when he barks, it reminds him not to bark.

my dogs do this....all 3 of them! Its the sound of the machines that were driving them crazy and the fact that there was someone in our yard. So I let them out one by one to meet the gardners....once they got to smell the heck out of them and there machines they were fine. I dont have to close up the house anymore when they come. I also bought treats for them tio give the dogs to help the dogs see the threat is not there.

Normally when my dog goes berserk and territorial, I just stand in front of her and don't say anything, I just give her the look that I am pissed and she calms down and walks away.

After watching Ceasar I would have your dog go up to them and sniff them and gradually get friendly with the dog. He just does not know who these gardners are!!!!!! Just like meeting another dog, they have to smell and get familar with them. Locking him up is not going to do it.........
Try it!!!!!

PLEASE watch the Dog Whisperer (Ceaser Milan) on the National Geographic channel - Friday nights. I think that show should be mandatory for every dog owner. Very informative!!

Either a bark collar or patience........... if they became friends and fed him treats he may not feel like they were starngers to bark at.
