A headache is an indication of something going on in the body. You could be coming down with anything from a summer cold to the flu.
This headache is just the onset. The ER probably didn't see anything just yet so they gave you something to aleave the headache, however they could have given you a couple of Ibuprofen instead of something so strong.

If you persist in these headaches then see your own doctor even after MRI's he'll give you their tests for migraines or send you to a neurologist.

At the er they will probally do a new ct to make sure it is not something more serious than a migraine. Tell them everything and they can give you a shot, just make sure you gat a ride, that will make you sleep it off. If not a shot then something stronger like viccodin.
Also go back to dr and tell them the pills won't work for you and have him try something new. Also ask if you might have migraines, if you do then there are lots of options to try.

I have te same problems with headaces , but different headaces have different symptoms , I have problems taking med that dont work and had to be put on IMITREX. the doctor will probably do some blood work and go over your med. history and to a light test with your eyes . then they will perscribe or inject you with a medicine to help ease your pain based on what kind of headaces they feel you have . then you will probably have a follow up with your doctor.
