The earth is VERY old. How old? Bible doesn't say. See traces of "hominids". They were not Adam's race, but did exist, there is no trace of women hominids.
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth".
How long ago was "the beginning"? Only God knows. But its a good, interesting question!!!
