I've recently started to dye my hair (and I'm still a teen) black, anyway I died it in february, and I touch up my roots ocassionaly like every 2 months, well my mom says that now, I cant dye it anymore and I have to let it grow out to be my normal color becuase if I keep dying it, then when I'll be older (like 18 or 25) it will just fall out (all of it). I mean, when I shower maybe a few strands come out ( a little bit) but does that mean all of it will come out if i keep dying it? Is there any dye that wont damage it? (I first dyed it in a professionaly salon, and now I do it by myself)

The damage will be the least of your troubles! Do you know what the maintenance will be with that dye job? Every three or four weeks you'll have to touch up your new growth and when you're sick of the colour, you'll spend hundreds of dollars at the salon getting a colour correction! Don't do it! But if you MUST get it done do it at an Aveda Salon where there hair colour is 97% natural.. And get them to use a Demi permanent. Aveda's colour line is super gentle and will not damage your hair.

I have been dying my hair brown for the better part of 20 yrs and for the past 10 yrs I have been using Loreal Casting Color now called Color Spa. This adds color to your hair without chemically changing the structure of your hair. Believe me when I say my hair is soft and my stylest swore me to secrecy for using something that I buy at Brooks pharmacy rather than having it professionally done.

The box is blue and it is around $7.00. Try it you will love it and it comes out after 6-8 weeks on its own.

Good luck!

I use henna, which is a plant product and non-toxic. I don't think it damages the hair. Whether it comes in black, I don't know though.
