My boyfriend of 3 months still cares about his ex - who he dated for three years. I understand that he would still have feelings for her and it doesn't bother excessively, but he doesn't get how I'm so understanding. I know he still cares about her, but a lot of it is because he's just use to her. I know he really likes me alot, and I think he's getting over his ex. He told me he doesn't like her like he use to, but he is afraid of telling her, because it may hurt her. He maintains a friendship with her... should I still date him, will he get over her? He and I have a very good and passionate relationship together, so I'm really not eager to break it up. Help.

I think that untill he gets over her he cannot truly be into you . he needs to resolve his issues with her and get truly over her and i think you should tell him that untill he resolves his issues with her ,you cannot truly be with him . good luck .

until he has completely put his ex behind him you guys can not go forward in your relationship. a relationship consists of two people and the mutual understanding that you are the only two in the relationship.

That is normal if he broke it off than you are in the clear if she broke it off you need to be sure that he does not want to get back with her if given the opportunity.
