its a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis GS. it has about 64,050 miles and runs great and cold A/C. The down side is that the person i bought it from (a old Lady) she like ran into her own house but it isn't bad of a hit. she just took off the paint of the left side of the bumper. but its a small area. do you think i can sell the car around $7,000?

The true value of something to be sold is set by the marketplace. I mean -you- don't decide what it's worth, the person who buys it decides. If he and you agree, then you have a sale.

So the thing to do is to go to Craigslist. You can advertise on Craigslist for free. So put it up on Craigslist for, say $7500. If it sells, then it's worth that! If it doesn't sell, put it up again for $7200. And keep doing that, reducing the price until it sells. Whatever it sells for, that is what it was worth.

Do a search for Kelly Blue Book or NADA. These sites can give you an idea of your cars value. Also look in the want ads in your town and compare car prices with cars similar to yours.

Not sure if all the years/models/makes are available, but you might check online with Kelley's Bluebook - it's what used car sales and trade-ins are based on...the "book value" refers to this resource...and you can get a better estimate based on not just age, mileage, etc., but also "with flaws" info. and low/high values.
