It used to be American Express but they have changed from Black to Titanium (real titanium, which sucks). You have to spend $75,000 per month to qualify and the annual fee is $4000. Generally they issue an invite but you can call and request to be reviewed for one.

It's called the American Express Centurian . You can't apply for this card, you have to be invited to use it. Typically you need to spend over $250,000 per year and the annual fee is $2500 plus the one-time inital fee of $5000. Your credit rating must be spotless and while there is a limit, it all depends on who you are and what you make and your spending history.

This card gets you mad, crazy benefits. You can get hotel rooms that are specifically reserved for black card holders at the finest resorts. You can rent airplanes, you can rent Bentleys and Aston Martons, you get access to private clubs and resorts that nobody else even knows about, discounts on things that typically don't have discounts (2 week stay @ resort on Great Barrier Reef - you pay the room @ $30,000, you get a discount on EVERYTHING else. Food, ferry rides, activities... anything you do on the island is free. So you end up saving about $35,000 dollars.)

This card give you access to anything you could want. THAT'S why everybody wants it.

-- Whoops! I was wrong, $250,000 is what you need to SPEND per year, not what you make per year. I fixed it.
-- And to "jdkilp" - you need to have a platinum card before you can get invited to receive the centurion. If you're spending that much, ask to be upgraded to the platinum. They shouldn't say no. :)

princespeacock is a little off on her numbers. The $250,000 isn't what you MAKE each year ... that's the amount you've been CHARGING per year on your other American Express cards. You have to make a lot more than $250,000 per year to be invited to try it out. I typically charge $150,000 per year on my Gold card, and I haven't been invited.

American Express - one has to be chosen specifically by Amex to receive such a card. Generally your annual purchases have to be very high.
