I'm looking at a 1993 300ZX T-Top N/A right now, the asking price is $3800 USD. I am wondering if anyone can say yay or nay on this one. I have a list of the signifigant issues to share with anyone who is sharing their thought.

There are some dents and scratches on the left rear quarter panel, the handbrake is dead (This is an auto though.) The exhaust isn't stock, but everything else seems to be. The battery seems a little dead, but everything worked. The front driver's seat will need to be replaced in the near future, but not immediately. Other than that, there isn't much to say. Thoughts?

First thought, take it to a local mechanic and have him give it a through inspection, he will find out all the little things that are wrong with it and what may go bad or need replacing. The price sounds fine, but that depends on alot of things. It doesn't sound like the car has been greatly maintained and it is well worn, so if you think this is your daily driver you might get yourself into trouble.

KBB = $5,225 (private property value)

(You did not state milage: Avg for this year = 97,000)

Take the repairs and replacements you want and need. Add them up and add that to the $3800.

From there, you can then make a better decision. If the amount of repairs and wants plus asking (3800) greater than $5000, then you need to rethink it.

Question is, if you DO buy it and then find out you don't want it, how much are you willing to lose on selling it yourself?

Good luck!

For $3800 you can probably buy a much nicer car than a beat up old Z. They arent as cool as they used to be and i bet this one has like 120+ thousand miles on it. Not worth it in my opnion, you'll be plagued with trying to track down hard-to-find parts which is a nightmare. Dont waste your time....Spend that money on a used Civic or if you want fast, go for an older Camaro (you can probably get a 96 or 97 for that money!)

300Z's are fun to drive but cost allot to repair so you might want to take that into consideration. My brother in-law had one and it cost him about $1500 to get the radiator replaced, to put that into perspective a Corvette radiator replacement is probably $500 to $800.

Check out the following sites:

http://nadaguides.com/

http://www.kbb.com/

These sites will be able to tell you the value of the car. Without a zip code, mileage, and other info it would be hard to figure the value myself using either site.

Here's mine: You should look for another 300ZX that's in better condition (and... not A/C condition-ING, or condition... condition{wow; that sounded shitty}) than the one you're talking about here. Anyway, you can try this website here:
