http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloads/FX101321101033.aspx?pid=CL100570421033 - but its a time limited demo, Microsoft are in it for the money.

Consider http://www.openoffice.org/ or http://www.abisource.com/ for free alternatives.

I agree with Sam.
Open Office is as good as, if not better, than Microsoft. It is Open Source, meaning it is free to use under the open source license. Download the complete suite (like Office Suite) to give you Word Processing, a Database, a Spreadsheet program, and others that work great. I have the suite and I'm still smiling.

I hate to break it to you, but it's not free (and it would be illegal to obtain it for free). Try Open Office, this is a better, free alternative to Microsoft Office.

OpenOffice.org is a multiplatform and multilingual office suite and an open-source project. Compatible with all other major office suites, the product is free to download, use, and distribute.

Try Open Office (www.openoffice.org) just make sure if you want to view the documents using MS Office, save then in the .doc format instead of the default .odt format.

The easiest thing to do is to go and buy a version of it or buy one offline. Get the student's copy. It's only like $130.
