My dog is 3 years old and has recently had a behavior change for the worse. He won't stay in our fence, he chews through the board. My husband has replaced it twice already and we've even put a cinder block and reinforced that as well but to no avail. He has even bit my husband 3 times for no reason. He won't come to us anymore and has exhibited aggressive behavior to other dogs on our block. Please help...

Dogs need to be IN the house with their family NOT stuck outside as a yard dog. This is what happens. Bring him in.

Once a dog has experienced the life on the outside. He will always try to get out.I have 7 dogs.I play with them all the time.I must constantly check their cage for ways out.I have several large Mastiff's and a pit-bull none of which have ever bit me.If your husband's been bit 3 times for no reason I would get rid of the dog before he bites a kid.

If he isn't neutered he might be trying to get to a female. Male dogs will do just about anything to get to a female and that includes displaying aggressive behavior. If he is not neutered, then get him to the vet and do so. He will mellow down. If that isn't the case, then a dog obedience class might be in order, but if he's biting that could be dangerous. You need to read what the "Dog Whisperer" might advise.

i think your dog might be chewing up the fence because you and your husband aren't giving him the attention he needs. try playing with the dog more, and taking him for walks around the neighborhood every once in awhile. if none of that helps take the dog to the local vet and see what the problem is.

Sometimes dogs can suffer from anxiety attacks... Has your dog been to the vet lately?? I'd say you might want to get him checked out, just to be sure he doesn't have a medical problem that has developed lately. Other than that, I don't know. Good luck =]

any new changes in the environment both indoor and out? Maybe a new puppy next door or new child in your home? Any new changes to your time schedule with the dog could probably get him to feel lonely. I would investigate all these options...

This dog is seriously mad... Take him to the vet for a thorough exam... How long is he left alone? Do you play with him or pay attention to him? Or is he just there for looks...

It sounds like he is bored. Maybe you should try exercising him more (and not just by putting him outside in the yard). If that doesn't help, maybe a training class would help so that he learns to listen to you. Good luck!
