I want to record music with what will probably be a macbook or macbook pro, but I'm unsure which device to buy to actually bring the guitar and vocals into the computer. I'm thinking of getting a linepod or lambda, but I really have no idea which one is the best. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh and I'm going to record acoustic stuff mostly with some violin and electric guitar, so I need the device to have at least 2 inputs for a guitar mic and vocal mic as well as an electric guitar input.

If you have ever known about CoolEditPro, you can record each instrument on a separate track, then record vocal. Available on the internet.
All this can be edited, vol, pan, and same for any measure or section, arranged, then mixed down. Even vocal can be moved to the correct notation, if the timing is off. This should be recorded by each phrase, not as a total song.
You can use steel pedal and vox if so desired.
Takes a little learning.
Can sound very professional.

Easy and simple, Q: do you have a microphone?, yes?, OK plug it into your computer, now You can use many ways to record music to your computer, and here are some: 1.you can use the "Sound Recorder" from your Start>Programs>Accessories>Sound Recorder utility, that is of corse after you plug your Mic and when you hit Record, you play the phonograph. BUT some times the Sound Recorder doesn't record that long time. 2.After plugging the Mic, you can use a Sound "recording/editing" program Like (Adobe Audition) Or (Cool Edit) Or (Sonic Acid Pro)etc..., and the procedure is regularly the same after running the program Find the Record command, and then start the phonograph. after recording the music, the program gives you alot of Saving options, Like .Wav, OR .MP3..... File type. Well Bingo, that's that..... Yours Yanal
