I know its a shame. Personal opinion is people without God in their life, are lost and probably not very nice people. But what they dont understand is Jesus gave them life and without him, they wouldnt be here to enjoy the experiance.

Many great men have turned to religion right before the time they past away. It's only a matter of assuring a place in paradise... acording to christianity, no matter how old you are, you can ask for forgiveness sincerely and you will go to heaven.

I, for one, am an atheist. I do have my weak moments - as I suposse everyone has when they are going through a rought time - but personally I wish to keep my conviction until the end of my existance.

Many people will, Shiela; in fact, one person didn't want a pastor conducting his funeral. He was a nice person, very into hunting, etc., and didn't want to be preached into a heaven he didn't want.

They say there is no such thing as a fox-hole athiest, but some repentance is not the right kind. It comes from a sense of truthfulness in their errors.

Such as Achan. When the lots were cast, and the finger pointed at him, they said: "Give God the glory and confess..." He did and met judgment.

Likewise, Judas, who had been stealing from the treasury all along, and betrayed our Savior cried: "I have sinned and betrayed innocent blood." Jesus tells us of his fate.

One more thing, Shiela, Judgment day is coming, and God tells us the exact year in a Bible code. Select WILL ISRAEL SAVE THE WORLD at http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Blessings, Balaam

Why do you care? You need some atheist to admit that they'll become religious on their deathbed? Will that assuage the nagging doubt you harbour about your own religious beliefs?

Insecurity with one's faith is sad, but when it's inflicted on others it ceases to be sad and becomes annoying.
This question comes up every other day and it is one of the most transparent.

Worry about your own death.

(I am religious, for the record)

How do you know I am not at death's door now? I became an atheist about the time I realized the odd were that I was going to die in tremendous pain in a wheelchair with club-like fists.

Yep. Uh huh. Your argument seems to be, "Hey, ya better believe in god or suffer!" Me, I'd rather have a god who considers things like background, experience, etc. If I'm supposed to believe in god just for insurance, wot the heck? God's not worth a lot then.

Atheist wouldnt be at Death's door... that would be the evangelical guy trying to convert him. The atheist would be partying with the rest of us non-christains.

I have been at death's door. I remained an atheist. Luckily things worked out and I survived, with no credit to a god mind you.

will you still be whatever you are? Probably a christian, as they are the types to come up with this insinuating tripe. Maybe you can ask a question about foxholes next.

Absolutely!

How narrow minded of you to suggest that death will an impact on our beliefs - or lack thereof.

Shame on you!
