I don't know, I'm not their judge. I only know that in my heart I needed to get married by an ordained minister.

Sin is in the eye of the beholder, and you can't lump Christians into one group. Episcopalians allow civil unions, and some Catholic preists will perform commitment ceremonies. But what difference does it make whether or not anyone "recognizes" the union if the couple is committed to one another?

I recognize civil union ceremonies they are a beautiful thing. The day I got married was the best day of my life. I hope anyone else who wants to experience dediciating their life to another person finds that day as wonderful as I did. I am a christian.

civil union ceremonies---u mean what homosexuals do cuz it's not legal for them to get /be married?
The Holy Scriptures say you are to have a legally* registered marriage, to be legal in God's eye's.
So, if it's not legally registered, it's not legal in God's eye.
That would be a yes, it is sinful.

* legal--what the law of man is, in the land where u live.

Are you asking if the chruch recognises?
No, the church dosent recognise the civil union. In the face of God, you are only married after the religious union.

why dont you leave the judging up to your god???
i like how you feel you can translate anything to fit your own purpose.............its...............ignorant............doesnt your "book" say that only your god can determine what is a sin?--anyways if all your sins can be forgiven who cares? at the end all those civil married people can ask for forgivness and poof........
