The Bible does state that they were here before humans. What was it, one day before? The Bible does actually have descriptions of dinosaurs within its text. See source.

The Bible account in the first chapter of Genesis simply states the general order of creation. It allows for possibly thousands of millions of years for the formation of the earth and many millenniums in six creative eras, or “days,” to prepare the earth for human habitation.
Some dinosaurs (and pterosaurs) may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea monsters.” Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.—Genesis 1:20-24.
When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when. We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake, no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time. Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God.

Non-human animals were created before humans and the Bible says that God created a few things each 'day'. The word day is how the Bible was translated into English but it could also be translated to mean any period of time, whether it be a few hours or millions of years. So the non-human animals could have been created and there could have been a huge gap before humans were created, and the Bible would still make sense because the order is still correct!!!

Genesis 1-3 does not mention the animals by name. But it would not matter because the word "dinosaurs" was coined in 1841. However since God created the animals on the 6th day - the dinasours were logically created on the 6th day.
Last month, in the news, there was a report of a Tyrannosaurus rex bone found with soft tissue (still-elastic blood vessel). The story mentions that the paleontologists are very surprised that this soft tissue was found at all. They claim that paleontologists of the past never bothered to look for any residue of soft tissue before, because they assumed that it would have degraded long ago (Can you believe it? Scientists actually admit making assumptions) . To explain their confusion they indicate that they have more to learn about fossilization and the preservation of tissue.
However this is not their problem. The problem has nothing to do with their understanding of fossilization, but their error in dating these bones. What they should question is their assumptions in their dating methods. The collagen should have degraded millions of years ago. There is no way that soft tissue, no matter how small can survive 68 million years! The truth is the world is only thousands of years old and the finding of a T-rex with soft tissue fits with the Biblical account of a young earth.

We have enough evidence to prove the existence of dinosaurs long before man came into existence. The reason they don't appear in the Bible is because the Bible was written by man, who in those days would have no idea about the existence of such creatures. It also explains why there are thousands of other contradictions in that book.

Dinosaurs and men lived on the earth at the same time.
The Bible talks about this.
In the KJV, dinosauers where called "dragons".
In Job 40 a creature is described in great detail.
Let me suggest you read it. And ignore the footnotes.

Non religious Dinosaurs do it all the time, sinners.
J.K.
Actually I don't know if we can state that the fact that dinosaurs existed without humans negates the bible. There is way too much wiggle room in the bible.
For instance you will hear that the story of creation is actually metaphorical. This is fine, unless the story of salvation is also metaphorical, the truth is that no one knows, but the likelyhood of the bible being historically accurate is very very very slim.

yes and no, they contradict it because they where never writen about that said its the reason that it doesn't contradict gennisiss, thing is they didn't mention it and you'd think they would mention the fact that dinosaurs where there they are pretty magnificent creatures after all, but they arn't there as are many other species alive today so its a tit for tat argument either way

"I think the Bible is interesting, but it certainly isn't the word of God."
"Greg," Tyrannosaurus Rex
"Love your God with all your heart and all your soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. This I like. But the whole 'women can't teach' thing, and the head coverings in church? Balderdash!"
"Susan," Velociraptor
"Bible Schmible! Give me The Prophet any day!"
"Herschel," Triceratops
I don't know about all dinosaurs. But these three certainly contradict the Bible.

Dinasour wasn't a word until the late 1800's.
The Bible was written before it was a word in the english language.
It mentions things like dragons, behemoth, leviathan.
Look them up in the KJV.
