I read this today, really bugs me, thinking he is a big time sell out now..
: As time and news moves along, it appears more likely that Rick Hendrick will purchase the No. 8 from Dale Earnhardt Inc. to put on Earnhardt Jr.'s car in 2008. As far as primary sponsorship is concerned, it's looking less likely that Budweiser will make the move with Earnhardt. Monster Energy drink has emerged recently as a front-runner in the sponsorship sweepstakes for Earnhardt next season
Just can't follow anymore if he goes with a cheep engery drink sponsorship.
Already not happy with the team he is going to and if this is going to be his sponsor then this is the end of the line for me now. Sorry Dale I think your selling out.
So from now on go #20...
Tell me what you think?

This guy that is a Kurt Busch fan through thick and thin. I am sorry for you to be such a fan of a guy that never wins. Good for you.
You all say he is going where he has a chance to win, well if he is as good as you all say then where are the wins? And don't tell me DEI would not give him the cars to do it with, like they don't want to win either, come on please.
This was mostly about the sponsor and if Dale want's to have a crappy product on his car and he don't care, well then that does say a lot about him. I just think he screwed his fans and went over the wrong line, just for a win that he can get by cheating like the rest of his team mates now. Hard to stand by your driver when he is going to a team that everyone knows is cheating.

There are different kinds of fans in NASCAR. Team fans, Driver fans, Sponsor Fans and so on and that is fine but if you call your self a driver fan then you support your driver even if, in your mind, he is making the worst move in the world. You may not agree with him but you support him just the same. The same goes for team and sponsor fans. If your a fan then you are a fan regardless.
Is he a sellout? I don't think so. He just thinks things will be better for him at HMS.
As far as sponsors, I really don't care who is on the car as long as he is getting what he needs to be the best driver he can be.

Well were do i start hmm. I don't care what's on the car as long as he is happy with his choice. A happy driver is a winning driver and get your facts strait Dale Jr has won more races than kurt busch and is a lot nicer guy. The only reason kurt won the championship that year is because Nascar fined junior points and took the lead away from him in doing so. Junior was also taken out of a race when then rookie Carl Edwards was making one of his first starts in the cup series and took junior out at Atlanta i think when he didn't clear him and came down and took him out oh yeah who does Crappy Carl drive for that's right Rousch Racing the same team Kurt drove for at the time. Coincidence i think not. And finally all of you band wagon jumping fans who think it matters whats on the car or who he drives for aren't real fans and we don't need you so stay the h*ll away from racing maybe there won't be as many beer cans on the track if you all quite coming because you are the ones giving the rest of the fans a bad name.

I think I will always be his fan just for the reason I was his dads fan.
I don't really care that he is changing sponsors. I maybe wrong but I heard that Bud was a DEI sponsor not Jr's. I personally would have like to see him be sponsored by Wrangler.
You mention sell out. I don't see it that way by no means. He tried to work things out with DEI and it didn't work out. He is starting over and doing what he has to, and that is it. If Hendrick wants to buy the number 8 so Jr. will have it then what does that have to do with Jr.
Cut him some slack he's doing what anyone of us would do if we were in this position in a high paying job like he is.

I don't think that the Dale is a big sell out. What i do think is that he wants to win very bad. And with all the emotions at DEI, how in the hell are you going stay focus driving.
Look at this way, did his dad ever change teams and sponsors; yes. The old man kept proving that he was a driving machine. Myself I'm not a fan of the #8 and what i see is determination of the face of his dad and you have to give the respect that the decision that he has made is in the best interest for him.

yeah I'm still a fan. Just because he moves to a different team doesn't mean you shouldn't like him anymore. Dale Sr. never drove for DEI his own company so why cant Jr switch.

I'm rooting for Dale Jr.
I don't think he's a sell out.
He got a better offer and took it.
If you were a true Jr. fan you would stick with him.
And you wouldn't be downing him, the team that he's going to, or whoever will be his sponsor.
You ask for an opinion, and you got it.
Go Jr. Go

He's a sellout. He didn't get his way so he wants to take all his toys ( number, sponsor, etc,) and go to his new home (HMS).Looks like he wants to make a DEI at HMS.
Spoiled rich brat needs to grow up.I guess Daddy never told him you can't have every thing you want in this world. So, who gets the blame when he doesn't win at HMS?

If you feel that Jr. is a sellout then you are not a true Jr. fan. A true fan would want him to go where he feels he needs to be and evidently that isnt DEI. I dont blame one whit for leaving, he has been in the shadows of Sr. long enough. Time for a change.

I think YOU'RE THE SELL OUT. "Oh poor me" crap like this is what bugs ME. What kind of a fan are you man?! How can you even consider yourself a true NASCAR fan. Basically what you just told me is that because of the fact that Dale Jr. is going to Hendrick (where he has the best chances of winning), possibly giving up his number, and no longer running with Budweiser that you're just going to dump him like that. I'm no Tony Stewart fan but I'm sure the last person they want liking their driver is some fair whether fan like you running with their pack. I know I sure as hell wouldn't want you liking my driver. I've been a loyal Kurt Busch fan through thick and thin, hell not only did he change teams, but he also changed cars (Ford to Dodge), he changed sponsors (Sharpie to Miller Lite), and just to top it all off he changed his number (97 to 2)... does that change the way I feel about HIM??? No. You're a loser man, learn some loyalty to your driver, and until then go cry to somebody else ya fair whether fan.
**EDIT**
"This guy that is a Kurt Busch fan through thick and thin. I am sorry for you to be such a fan of a guy that never wins. Good for you."
Well SORRY!!! Not all of us are like you and jump ship to a newer and better driver when our driver isn't on the top of his game. For your information though kid, Kurt Busch won the championship the year before last... kind of hard to do that if you NEVER WIN. Get your facts straight dumb@$$!
