Loud voices, it sounds like someone is in the room with me yelling, whispering, or talking at a normal level. It only happens when I am just about to fall asleep. It is becoming a problem because it happens every night now...It scares the hell out of me and it is really starting to worry me...Is this normal?

I would love it if I could stop myself from having an emotional reaction to it but really, my body just jumps and this creepy feeling comes in...No matter how hard I try I would never be able to "ignore" it.

since it happens only when you are about to fall asleep.....i dont think it is anything to be concerned about. it does not sound like schizophrenia because you only have this happen when you are about to fall asleep. i have heard of this before. dont worry about it. the next time it happens just shrug it off. you have to learn not to get an emotional reaction when this happens or else you will fall into a cycle of being afraid to fall asleep every night. it might not be a bad idea to see a psychiatrist, although they may not have much to offer you. unless this really starts becomgin a big problem. or if you hear voices more often (not just when falling asleep).

I use to experience the same exact thing when I was a teenager. It didn't happen for too long (maybe a month) but it used to freak me out. Sometimes I would get up (mostly I would just hide under my covers) and walk around the house to see where it was coming from.. it would usually stop until I got back in bed, and begin soon after I tried to sleep again. I never told anybody about it because it seemed insane. Funny thing is.. it continued while I was wide awake laying in bed.. I was totally aware and conscience.

Possibly it's all in your head but I highly doubt it. It could be the neighbors or siblings if you have them or even your parents. Next time you hear the voices investigate and maybe you will find out what it is. If you don't find anything its possible your house is haunted. If you think so reasearch your house on the internet something may have happened there to cause ghosts. Good luck

People are more open to hearing spirits when they are relaxed and have a clear mind. You might be one of those people that attract spirits... Do you listen to what they have to say? This might be an awesome tool to use in finding direction in your life or helping out others... Don't be scared.. Just relax and listen.. The dead can't do anything to you.. You should be more worried about the living...
That or you're crazy, lol....
Wow, I wish I heard voices.. FYI-- if they get loud and startle you, yell back and tell them that you aren't going to listen if they yell.. You have to be aggressive sometimes...

Either you have a haunted room, or you are going crazy. Have you had anyone else over in the room that could verify this for you? Or, could you possibly tape these noises?

You might just be thinking things. Try sleeping with someone else and see what happens.
