It's a 2001 Ford Windstar. The rear speakers seem to turn off and on when I hit a bump and sometimes don't even turn back on(as in no sound coming out). It started with just the rear left, but the right one just started going out as well. I was thinking it might just be a loose connection, but then, would it be in the door? Or in the back of the stereo it's self? If anyone has any information on this, please let me know.

I'm wondering how to fix it. I did think that it was a loose connection. Anyone know if I would have to rip out the door and fix it there- or do I have to rip out the stereo and fix it back there?

If I recall correctly, the rear speakers are located in the sliding doors, correct?

If so, the speaker wiring runs through a set of spring-loaded contacts between the door and the vehicle body. That's the most likely spot for a poor connection. I'd start by cleaning all the contacts, and make sure none of the springs are broken. You might end up having to replace the contact panels.

it can be the rear seat controls if you have them or most likely the door contacts
open the rear doors and you are going to find a small panel of metal contacts clean them with alcohol the door and where it makes contact also if the car is been in a car accident the door needs to be align good if not the contact is not going to be good

My first question is does it idle or do you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it running? It sounds as though you have an air intake concern. If it was spark or fuel related it would do it all the time not just at slow speeds. Is you "Check Engine" light on? You may have a throttle position sensor concern among other possibilites. Is there an engine misfire(s)? More info please.
