I depend on the type of situation...at a bar first with eye contact and if you get a smile, then I would approach her and introduce myself...in the first couple minutes you will be able to see if there is any chemistry. If you are already together then you should be able to tell that he likes you...if he calls you, or texts you throughout the day....and he just wants to be around you.

Well most likely you'll get stuff like their voice changing around you, them paying attention to you, getting their mates to be nice to you, choosing you over others to hang around with, stuff like that. Even just compliments or straight out "I really like you" or "Can we be friends?" is good.
