I think that people have forgotten that the Bible is just a book and nothing more! Just a bunch of pages of paper that people wrote on and then got the whole world to follow it. Man I bet they are laughing in their graves at how stupid people are. Maybe I should get a group of people and ask them to help me write a book and then turn it into a religion.

You again - with another question in regards to religion. You sound like an angry person, who is seeking the meaning of life. If the "book" proves not to be true, what harm has it done to those people who believe? if anything, it helped them to live a decent and fulfilled life. I hope you can find the answer to your anger. Best wishes.

Well.... people tend to rely on media for information. If we are not eyewintesses, we need media in some form to let us know what happened. Even you are guilty of the very thing you feel other's are stupid for doing. You read a book by a scientist, philosopher, or fellow atheist and believe it's true. You read the news paper and take the words of the reporter as true. Unless of course you don't believe anything you don't see first hand. You read that there was a bombing in England... you say "Oh please... that never happened" because YOU didn't see it. If this is the case, then you have a point. Otherwise, you do exactly what you claim other's are stupid for.

Why do people believe that just because they make some silly, unsupported statement that it has to be true?

That the Bible is "just a book and nothng more" is just opinion and nothing more.

Many people around the world have found out by living according to the Bible that what is says is true, and valuable. They believe what their personal experience tells them.

Why do people all around the world believe what a book tells them? Because of who they beleive the Author was.
"Maybe I should get a group of people and ask them to help me write a book and then turn it into a religion." Feel free. You could do that.

I dont believe in ignorance. The Bible could just be like a lot of books, just text. It could be the real deal, and save people from an eternity from burning in Hell. It could be written to lend moral support to people, even if others believe it to be impractical.

Choose whichever you want. I'm not going to fight.

Just give it a try!

See if anybody would die for you as a martyr!

The bible has hundreds of prophecy that cam true and are still being proven through archeology.

Clueless, be careful how judgmental you are. You shall be judged by the measure that you judge. Hum, something to think about.

Why do some people believe a space ship is going to come and save them at the end of the world? They're crazy.

So much for your religious lessons and I certainly won't bother you BUT doesn't lasting 2000 years mean anything to you or how about 44 author's in different part's of the nation coming across with the same ideology does that help?
The last paragraph, well that's been tried sooooo many times and well, they really didn't last.

It's simple. It's forced on them from birth. They become programmed, delusional, irrational, and experts at making excuses for god. In many ways they are trapped mentally preventing them from becoming further educated. They are also afraid of burning in hell. It makes it easier to cope with problems when you can answer god did it, god works in mysterious ways, and just have faith.

Then again most of them have invested a lot of money in God via the collection plate. Maybe some are just hoping for a return on their investment. They just fail to realize that heaven is another word for Enron.

what do you think happened with Scientology.

Read "Wizard's First Rule" by Terry Goodkind (fantasy), he makes a good point. In every one of this book there's a lesson, or rule, he teaches.

"People are Stupid, they'll believe anything they want to..."
