Strawberries and bananas would be the best choice for your smoothie.
You can add a variety of liquid to make it smooth, it depends on your tastes:
orange juice or you favorite juice
milk
yogurt and one or all of the above.
If you add water you will be watering down the flavors but you will also be saving calories.
It is always nice to add some ice for some smoothie body.
It is not necessary to cut the fruit up in terribly small pieces - just in chunks and let the blender do the work.
Other smoothie fruits that are good are:
mango
papaya
blueberries
pitted cherries
melons
peaches
You can also add things like protein powder or even tofu for a more filling meal.
I think you will find that apples are too chunky and that grapes aren't that much fun either because of their skins.

MMM I Was obsessed with smoothies last summer!
Apple grape would be really good! Throw in about 6 ice cubes, then the apple slices (1 apple should do), a handful of seedless grapes, 2-3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/4 any kind of fruit juice (white grape would be awesome!), and 1/2 cp of vanilla yogurt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
You can basically follow these instructions, and just mix up the fruits and juices.
Like banana, strawberry, and milk

I have never tried to make a smoothie in a blender but I have used the Magic Bullet (Which I love) But I use Banana, Strawberries, OJ and ice then Blend. You dont need to add water or Milk. Just Mix and enjoy!!!!!!

Apple Banana Smoothie
1 banana, peeled & chopped
1 apple, peeled & chopped
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup milk
1 cup ice
1/4 cup flavored yogurt (optional)
In a blender combine banana, apple, orange juice, milk & optional yogurt. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
Strawberry Smoothie
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup strawberries
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup crushed ice
Put all ingredients into blender container.
Process until smooth.
Strawberry-Banana Smoothie
1/2 banana cut into chunks
1/8 tspn vanilla
1/2 cup cold milk or soy milk or skim milk
1 tblspn strawberry syrup
2 tblspn wheat germ
1/2 cup ice cubes
1. Put everything in a blender.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour into a tall glass and drink!

Heres a healthy strawberry smoothie recipe if you wanna put some protein in it. Enjoy!
Smart Start Smoothie
1 Cup Frozen Blueberries, or Fresh Blueberries in Season
1 Cup Nonfat Plain Yogurt
1 Tablespoon Ground Flax seed
1 Tablespoon Whey Protein Concentrate
2 Tablespoons Water
Pour 2 tablespoons of water into a blender. Add yogurt and blueberries. Blend until the berries have turned the yogurt into a deep rich blue. Put in the ground flaxseed and whey protein. Blend until smooth.

i personally make smoothies all the time, so im givin you directions from what i created,{ grapes arent a good choice}
Chop up your applr, banana, and strawberries and put them in the blender with 1 cup of milk, 1\4 of sugar, some crushed icecubes, few drops of vanilla flavoring{optional} and blend it until tit creamy

Strawberries with some vanilla yogurt, or with orange/lemon/lime sorbet and some soda water.
Strawberries and bananas mix well too, with yogurt and honey.
Apples and grapes aren't the best smoothie fruits.
