I would say the fruit had to be "Bitter-Sweet" and banana's are not bitter-sweet.

Some say it's a metaphore for "Sex" ... since sex can be really good or create evil. Sex in itself isn't good or evil .. it's what we do with the sex that makes it good or evil ... so it very well could be sex. Since "Sex" creates life and sin is "Death" ... I think that this moves us away from metaphorically saying "Sex" is the fruit of good and evil.

It is unlikely that the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was any fruit that is around today. Why would it be a banana? Those come from banana trees. An apple? Only from apple trees? A peach? Pear? Pomegranite? Date? Grapefruit? Nope. All of those come from specialized trees. Just as you wouldn't expect to find an apple on a banana tree, why would you expect to find one on the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? The fruit of that tree would be specific to that tree.

Know one really knows. It was believed an apple because of the apple being seen as "evil". for early monks evil and apple were the same world. Many theologians believe that it was a fig. For they clothed themselves with fig leaves. Others believe it was a pomegranate. There is no way to know.

No one knows exactly what kind; it was a tree that Adam & Eve weren't supposed to touch. God lets us touch apples (what lots of people think it was), bananas (thank goodness!), & everything else we know of, without consequence--in fact, those two are EXTREMELY healthy for you, and God wouldn't want you NOT to eat things that are healthy for you (double negative, but you get my point).

Go bananaferlicious!!!!!

It's just a myth!

Bananas aren't native to the area. (And especially not apples!) Perhaps a fig. They did use fig leaves for clothes, supposedly. Clothes! There goes Paradise!
