I agree with you completely. We spent years and years practically begging illegal immigrants to cross our border and now everyone wants to get all up in arms about it. Our country is to blame for this "problem" by not supporting our neighbor to the south. We should be sending troops THERE to help the Mexican government crack down on the druglords (which is a great thing they are attempting). If illegal immigration is such a problem, why aren't we helping to make Mexico a better, stronger and more stable country? Then they would not loose their hard-working family people who just want to make a better lives for themselves. It's sad, I had to watch as hundreds of members of my church (Catholic) were ripped away from their families because suddenly the government decided it was time to correct their mistake.

Then I hear it's time for Americans to take their jobs back... Like we were all waiting in line to clean the machinery which seperates beef. Immigration is the soul of our country. My family immigrated from England 200 years ago, does that mean I should go back where I came from? Being American is NOT a birthright, it is a right which every human being on the face of the planet should be afforded, if they want it, and are just. Eliminate illegal immigration by making it LEGAL to immigrate. God bless my Latino brethren or anyone else who wants to come join the land of the free.

Have some damn empathy people, if you were forced to raise your kids in a drug infested and corrupt country, wouldn't you try to cross that border ASAP rather than wait 7 damn years??? Think outside the box for once, and for God's sake show some humanity.

Correction: The USA gives far less than most Western, developed nations when calculated on percentage of GDP. (Some say it equals less than 1/10th of 1 percent)

That being said, we WERE trying to help Mexico by implementing NAFTA. But then the greedy corporations abandoned Mexico for China, then left China for Viet Nam.

Globalization has screwed us all... that is why they need a scapegoat. It's un-American to blame companies for the evil that they do, but it's very American to blame the poor, the immigrant, and especially the brown-skinned among us.

Hope this helps.

I am good mindful that the majority Arabs are fair folks that adhere violence however I have not ever been ready to have an understanding of probably the most mindless rhetoric that "terrorists shall be punished within the afterlife " or that " we have to fail to remember the matters due to the fact we do not have an understanding of the faith" or "it's not our position to voice objections" If you do not accept as true with the violent contributors - take a stand and end up you wish peace. It is ridiculous that for 60 years , the Arab populace cannot be given the truth that Israel has a correct to exist . Interesting truth is that there might be peace and Palestine might have its possess state/country in the event that they had been inclined to compromise. That is the entire UN ask of them in 1947 however no they needed to have the whole thing or not anything. So if they've not anything it could look that's what they desired.

Your question is too broad in every respect to have a good answer.

First... Americans is too broad. Do you mean America as a country... all american citizens... the majority of american?

Humanity is broad term as well. What does it mean? Do you help other people? Ourselves?

Americans are diverse and have diverse opinions as far as helping others. You have some who want nothing to do with anyone else and want nothing more than to selfishly take care of their own needs.

On the other hand, you have many americans who volunteer locally, nationally and even internationally - not to mention the billions of dollars in aid we give to other countries.

If you're talking about morals... America's morality has been declining sharply in the last 30 years.

Yes.
Billions spent annually in foreign aid.
Millions donated by citizens to tsunami victims.
Efforts to raise funds and assistance for Katrina victims.
Peace Corps volunteers. Missionary aid in Africa.
Volunteers in homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
Doctors who provide free care for the indigent.
"Street" lawyers who provide services for the homeless and indigent and help get benefits they are owed.
Collections in small stores raising funds for people who need expensive medical procedures and lack enough medical coverage.
The evidence of our humanity is everywhere.

Opposing violations of our sovereignty by illegal aliens is not inhumane. It is not logical to decimate our social programs to benefit illegal aliens at the expense of America's poor, education or health systems. It would be logical to call upon the UN and our government to bring pressure to bear on nations such as Mexico who have the wealth and resources to improve conditions for their poor. That would be humane.

Americans are some of the most generous people in the world and the most humane, almost to a fault.

We've demonstrated far too much humanity and that's why we're being flooded by illegals. The bleeding heart Americans will take care of us even is we destroy their economy and force wages to all time lows, well we won't, we're sick of it. And I refuse to take from our future generations to babysit Mexico's illegals until they have robbed us sufficently to retire in their own country! Not a drop of sympathy left in my wallet.

These nuts here would rather obey the law and have their country fall apart then give legal status to immigrants.
