Genesis is not a Jewish idea, it is the foundation, the starting point of Christianity, from that very moment, that time when it was written it was done so with one purpose, to give us salvation history, through stories, epics and yes even fables, but the truth lies in the meaning, each of these had a message of love, God's love for us and his desire for our repentance.
God bless and have a great day.

well for Christians, most of our faith is based upon the principles set up in the Old Testament, from Genesis-Malachi.

what differs between Christians and Jews is that Christians have recognized the the Messiah, Christ Jesus, has already come. the Jewish faith is still waiting for the Messiah.

Do you read the Bible? It's the Word of GOD. Not the word of MAN. The Jewish people were given the privilege of being keepers of His oracles.

Romans 3:1-3
What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.

Is this more of what your Catholic church is teaching you? OY!

Genesis is not a Jewish Idea but God's word. We believe in God therefore believe his word. We do not create God and form him to our image but believe God and trust him to change us to his.
