Definetly Carmel!

It depends on your skin tone.
If your skin dark, then whiter hair will makes you look weird. But if your skin is light then any colors will work on you. If your skin is medium (asian) then medium color is the best, blond won't work.

I suggest you go for caramel than light blond since you have dark brown hair. If you dye blond and you have dark brown hair, I'm sorry to say this, but it'll make you look dirty because the blond highlight is so bright and the color of your hair is dark so it doesn't match.

Believe it or not, pro-hairstyliest would add a bit of your eye-color before dying your hair. Ex: if your eyes r blue, she/he'll add a little blue in. I do not know the reason why.

I would do the caramel highlights. I think the blonde would be too drastic. Try caramel first and see how you like it, then graduate to blonde later if you're still interested.
Good luck!!

Caramel or red go good next to dark hair. If you did really light chances are it will only lift to yellow or yellow-orange and that would not be pretty.

a general rule of thumb for great looking highlights is to only go 2 or 3 shades lighter than ur natural (or base) color. thats what works best and what looks best.

I think caramel would look better with a level 2 brunette
