I know there are Bachelor of Medicine and a Doctor of Medicine degrees but I have not heard of a Master of Medicine degree. If there is Masters degree then can you tell me the university or medical school that awards that?. Thank you.

yes and no...to be a doctor in the M.D. sense you have to have a doctorate or phd in medicine...now you can recieve a masters degree in things like public health...nursing...and other health related fields. There is also P.A. school which is kind of like a masters degree 2-3 years long, that when your done your considered a physicians assistant and you can basically work as a doctor except you dont practice under your own licencse.

hope this helps a bit.

Yes there is Master of Medicine degree which would also include Masters degree in different fields of Medicine. In US I believe that the most common path of pursuing path of higher degree is by having membership or fellowship on a certain specializes field. I am sure there is a higher studies such as Masteral degree as well as doctoral degree.
Getting the masters degree is more common in other countries. My brother-in-law has Master of Critical Care and I worked with doctors with Masters in Medicines with their specialized branches such as Pediatrics, Surgery, Anesthesia etc. I am not sure what university offers such masters in medicine program in US but supposed to have some. For a proof that such masters in medicine really exist, find out from this overseas website. Just to know that there is such a degree.

If you want to pracice medicine, then you need the doctor (MD or DO) degree.

There are Masters level degrees in many medical type things - like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and that sort of thing, but they do not allow you to practice medicine.

I am not sure, sorry. Have you checked this:

I am doing Veterinary Medicine at uni presently (first year), and I get really annoyed that my course is only a Bachelors! I mean, its 5 years, and is god damn hard, and I come out with qualifications above a doctor (in my opinion!), and yet its a bachelors! In all other countries (in europe, USA, australia etc) it is a doctorate, and so you become a doctor, but not here in good old England!
