There's an example in the Bible. Satan tells Jesus, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for Scripture says, 'He will send his angels to take charge of you, lest you dash your foot on a stone.'" Jesus replied, "Scripture also says, 'Do not put the Lord your God to a foolish test.'"

Here's another example: A married man with children gave way his college scholarship money to a church cause, believing God would somehow provide for him. He had no income, but he found a pecan tree, and he and his family lived on the pecans. He testified about this provision to a Christian group. The next day someone anonymously left bags of groceries for the family. When the man and his wife learned who did this, they thanked the woman. The woman replied, "I did this for your children. As far as I'm concerned, you two can starve."

Why did she say this? Because the man had irresponsibly and presumptuously taxed God's provision by giving away that scholarship money. Properly chastised, the man and his wife found jobs. (I believe the man still stayed in school.)

How about writing a book and pretending it came from god?
Or making up some rules and pretending they came from god?
Or dipping your head in some water and pretending that god has forgiven you for everything you've done because you've dipped your head in some water?
The list goes on.
