By the time my kids were three they were eating at all the same times we were. Breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, maybe fruit or something before bed.

At three years of age he should pretty well know when and what he wants to eat. I have a two year old and if he doesn't want to eat something he actually waits till the next meal cause he knows it'll be different. My son eats usually 2-3 meals then 2 snacks a day. He's completely not overweight and is very built. Just try to make him eat the same time each morning and remember, late night meals are not good cause they're bodies will absorb fat throughout the night. Good luck!

My 3 year olds feeding schedule (on a very typical day) would be something like this:
Breakfast - (soon after he wakes, not too soon as he refuses it too soon after waking) - Cheerios, or cut up toast, english muffin or bagel, with apple juice. Sometimes fresh fruit cut up in to pieces.
Mid morning - Offered some fruit or a cookie with some milk - he doesn't always want it.
Lunch - Around 1.00 - SpaghettiOs with mini meatballs or similar, usually from a can thats ready just to heat up.
Usually a drink of water with lunch and water on hand in his sippy cup throughout the day.
Dinner 6,00ish - Whatever we are having, cut up toddler style, for example pizza cut in to fingers, cut up hamburger or hot dogs, gravy with mashed potatoes... he is usually pretty good about having what we are having.
About an hour or so before bed he has some milk and sometimes a cookie.

okay yesterday my 3 year old son ate cereal for breakfast around 8:30 am.
then at 10:15 a.m he had an appple and milk for a snack
then for lunch at 12:30 noon he has a hot dog with mac n cheese on the side..
about 3:00 he had a half of peanutbutter sandwitch for afternoon snack
and for dinner we had hamberger patty, with fries, and cheesy brocoli with some grapes...
my son is a good eater but i only put a little bit of each on his plate so he will eat it all and have a healther diet.. then he will have an more unhealth snack around 7:30 like a fruit snack or a snack cake.. he's a kid i gotta give a little.. well i hope this help =)

At 3, she or he should eat what you do. You set the schedule, the child determines if they want to eat and how much.
My daughter is now 4.5, but at 3 the same applied. On the way to daycare (6.45am) - a snack (low sugar breakfast bar, etc.), she has brunch at daycare around 11 - snack after nap, dinner sometime when we get home - anywhere between 5.30 and 7.00. I give her a choice of 2 meals for dinner, she picks one and I make it. She can eat it or not eat it, that's up to her. If she doesn't eat it though, she does not get any dessert (usually 1-2 tablespoons of ice cream with a cherry).

sure, I have three year old. Breakfast whenever they wake up, something nutritious like oatmeal or eggs and toast. Snack at around 10 am. an apple or oatmeal cookie or carrot sticks. lunch at around 12...balanced meal with milk. Snack again at around 3 pm...small snack of maybe yogourt and a half a banana. and supper at around 5. again, a balanced meal with all food groups. A meat product or fish , some veggies and bread...milk to drink. And water in between throughout the day. avoid giving too much juice , it has a lot of sugar

Toddlers really need a schedule to their day. Since they don't have much input into their schedule it helps them transition. Here's my son's schedule, he's 2.
6:30 AM - Wake up and watch cartoons while mom gets ready for work.
7:00 AM - Eat breakfast (usually cereal or oatmeal)
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM - Play (inside/outside) or run errands with grandma or mom
10:00 AM - Snack (usually grapes, cookies, pudding)
10:30 AM - Nap (2 hours)
12:30 PM - Lunch (hot dog, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese)
1:00 PM - Play (inside/outside) or run errands with grandma or mom
3:00 PM - Snack (fruit, crackers)
3:00 PM - Play, watch cartoons.
5:30 PM - Dinner (mac n cheese, spaghetti with meatballs)
6:00 PM - Help clean up toys
6:30 PM - Bath and brush teeth
7:30 PM - Bedtime
Sticking to a schedule helps my son to know whats next. So when I tell him it's clean up time he runs over to help, because he knows that bath time is next and he loves the bath.

For my three year old, our day starts with breakfast at 8am. It can take up to 30 minutes, depending on how much she eats. She likes cereal (we do Cheerios, Kix, Frosted Mini Wheats- no overly sugary cereals and we do NOT add sugar to them), waffles and french toast.
Then we have mid-morning snack at about 10am. Maybe 15 minutes. You can try apples with peanut butter on them or Nilla wafers and yogurt...it's not going to be a huge meal.
Lunchtime is at 11:30am. She usually likes to eat a peanut butter & jelly sandwich (I use strawberry preserves), chips (like Sunchips) and yogurt or applesauce. (About 30 mins.)
Snack is at 3pm. Cheese and crackers usually goes over well.
Dinner is at about 6:30pm. She eats what the family eats!
Because there's a schedule (which can be flexible depending on what is going on during that day) she knows that if she doesn't eat at one meal it won't be too long before the next.

I feed my little busy body breakfest at 8:30am-9 o'clock depending on what time she wakes up. Alittle snack between hours and lunch between 12 and 1 o'clock. Snack between hours and dinner by 8 o'clock, bath time at 9 and bed time at 9:30. Snack time is gram crackers and milk before lunch, and fruit before dinner and sometimes ice cream after dinner.

Not sure off the top of my head but i use the Annabell Karmel books for recipies for the kids i look after, some of them are really tasty and good for all the family, you can gat them at any good book stockists and in the baby section at Tesco!! try them there really good.
