I've known this guy for several months now and he knows I like him. He's a Marine and he's deployed right now in Djibouti (tiny country in Africa) and I wrote another letter to him a while ago telling him again that I like him. A couple weeks after he got the letter we had this long conversation in which he ended up saying he hated relationships, relationships are the sucks, and he might never want to be in a relationship again. I told him he was being unfair...to me and stuff...I asked him what was wrong with me and he said nothing, he just doesn't want to be in a relationship...

So, my question is, do you think he really hates relationships? If so, what can I say to him or do to change his mind? Can I change his mind? Keep in mind, he's deployed. Or does he just not like me? (I hope it's not that.) He never directly responded to the letter...

At least be his friend. He may not want to have a long distance relationship. He may not feel it is fair to you. He may be scared of a "dear john" letter sometime in the future. Stay in touch with him. He needs you. He may not know it. The Marine's discourage relationships for lower ranked EM's, but they are wrong.

First of all he is in the marines. They are very hardcore. He probably knows he might not see u enough. So he sounds like he is being honest. He doesn't like relationships. You have to understand that he moves from place to place. So he can't let himself get involved. If u really like him then stop with the relationship talks.Just send him happy fun filled letters. This will be the best thing u can do for yourself. When all this marine stuff is done then u see how he feels.Good luck..
