Or rather, at what age do you have to start paying adult fares on UK buses?

I live in Bristol.

Its 16. For those people that have said 15 I don't know if that is valid for where they live or not. I live in London and its 16. Anyone under 16 should be in full time education (school) so they are therefore classed as a child. The school should provide you with a application form which they stamp with proof the child is in schooloing, this is then taken to the post office or local news agents and a child photocard is provided. It will finish the day before your 16th birthday. If you don't have a child photocard and you look older or if the bus driver has had a bad day they have the right to ask you for the full adult fare which you have no right to argue or dispute if you don't have proof of your age.

16, but if you don't have an under 16's pass they sometimes charge you adult fare anyway. Happened to me when I was 12, not impressed lol

i drive a bus in west yorkshire and if you are between 11 and 16 you must have a half fare pass so i suppose the answer to your question is 16 .

Unless you have got a school bus pass [which you can only use at certain times anyway], you have to pay full fare from your 15th birthday.
