Are the kids being brainwashed? Yep. It's the brainwashing of their parents flowing down to the next level.
Is this ok? No. But I did it. My kids told me they didn't suffer. But then, I didn't "force" them to do it. Some JW parents do.
Should the kids be able to choose their own path? They're stuck as long as they're too young if both parents are JWs. Many grow up and leave on their own. More power to 'em. One of mine was pretty much out before I quit. The other left when I told him what I'd figured out. But both of them were adults by then.
They are a DANGEROUS MIND CONTROL CULT. They have teachings that involve LIFE AND DEATH over BLOOD, and PROTECTION OF CHILD MOLESTERS. Most of them are sweet people. They are victims. Looking for more victims. Most of them are innocent. That doesn't matter. Don't join. Don't join. Don't join.

Yes, you are right. They ahd me on the platform at the Kingdom Hall and going door-to-door at the tender age of 4 (which is when my parents converted.) I was holding Bible studies at people's homes while still in high school. It is all part of the indoctrination process.
Although I will say that some good did come out of it: I have no problems public speaking and, as a Christian, I have no problems being bold about defending God's word. Both have been very helpful in the ministry path I have chosen as an adult.

>Or should the kids be able to choose their own path in life.
Unlike Christendom, JW children are expose to every religion that is out there when they go house to house with a parent.
As they get older they can compare what the bible teaches to the religious beliefs of others that they come in contact with.

First of all, JW are not so bad. Although I am not willing to convert to be one, I am friends with a wonderful woman who is a JW. In talking with her, their mission is to spread the word that the end is near. They are only trying to help save the lives of God's children. They live strictly according to the Bible.
Because it is important to them to spread the news, naturally they will teach their children the same beliefs. I think too many people judge JW's to be bad and they are only a different religion worshiping in their unique way.

It is interesting that when householders see persons going from door-to-door with bibles, they immediately conclude that it is Jehovah's Witnesses. Globally, nearly SEVEN MILLION Jehovah's Witness ministers share in the public preaching work each month, in obedience to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 10:7,11,14) As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ ...Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving... Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations...teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded
A merely ostensible "Christian" who does not himself participate in the Christian preaching work is unlikely to understand that young people are not exempt from this commission.
(Psalm 148:12-13) You young men and also you [young girls], you old men together with boys. Let them praise the name of Jehovah
Both young and old persons must QUALIFY to teach in conjunction with the formal ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses, and a significant requirement is one's own interest in participating. No student, young or old, is coerced into speaking about the bible's hope with his neighbors.
It seems necessary also to note that Jehovah's Witnesses never send young children to doors unaccompanied or unsupervised. Similarly, Jehovah's Witnesses do not "peddle" anything, but hope to discuss the bible's urgent message of "good news" to those who listen.
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

I am not JW but I believe they send their kids because people would be less likely to turn away a child than an adult. That is using children to me. That is a modern tactic because they never did that in the 70's.

I cannot stand that they do this. I feel so bad for those poor little children, having to spend their Saturday going from door to door when they ought to be having fun, riding bikes, watching cartoons, etc.
One time a little preteen girl came to my door by herself. I gave her a glass of lemonade and told her she did not need to be doing this alone, as it was dangerous. I begged her not to do it anymore.
(I am a Christian.)
NO, it is not okay, in my opinion.
It is child abuse to send a child out alone to do this!
