Christians, for thousands of years, have accomplished powerful things. We have educated and fed the masses, healed, obtained spiritual knowledge, done heroic feats and other miracles. Why do we acknowledge that God has the POWER and deserves the glory?

If we may obtain all things, be all things, why not believe it all comes from us? It is recorded that some, such as the apostles, have been empowered to do almost all things. Peter gave the glory to God chastizing those who believed he was God. (Acts 3:11-12) Such a Christian could become self-sufficient to the point of believing all things are for and come from himself. Having eternal life, he could be all things to himself eternally. He could eternally love only himself circling forever into himself. Is this Heaven on Earth or Hell itself?

Given that no one is capable of sustaining himself alone, is it not a generosity that God has us give Him the glory? Isn't He saving us from ourselves?

Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father. Any power or glory we have, we get from God. He saves us not only from our selves but from all the attacks of Satan in this world.

I find some of your concepts confusing; but that's all right. I'll answer you as best I can.

You say apostles "have been empowered". That means the power came from someone else--that is, God. If the power comes from God, then the power, at least originally, belongs to him.

A Christian who thinks he or she "could be all things to himself eternally" risks making the same mistake Lucifer did, IMO.

From Deuteronomy 8:
17 You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." 18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

From Revelation 19:
1After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting:
"Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.

Peter gained the power to heal and cast out demons through God because of his faith and loyalty to Jesus, if he did not become Jesus' follower he would not have the power to do anything. everything good comes from God evil is the result of our own freely chosen action to do wrong.

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit = one person

Oh, thank you, you bizarre sky fairy (my apologies to fairys everywhere) for creating me just so that I can worship you forever. For, if you had not created me to be your willing slave, then I could actually have some satisfaction in what I do for myself and for others. I could live a good and satisfying life, but I must spend the rest of it on my knees, thanking you for allowing me to thank you for what I have done.

Oh, yeah, what a generous deity. I think that you, my dear, misguided friend, just set free will back by at least 3 millenia.

Your guess is as good as mine..That's what happens when man twists the truth so they don't have to explain to the many skeptics that have little spiritual sense...
