I agree. Yes I am christian but we were to be caretakers of our home, the earth. It gives us life and sustenance. It keeps us safe from the harmful things in the solar system.
Why would God create something and not expect us to care for it?
I think people get hung up on the end of days which may not happen for a long time - when some of the end game events are debatable.

Dear twinsma,
I do not "always" think of Judgment Day, though it is near. You can see that the earth is wearing out. The ozone layer is depleted and the ice caps are decreasing. But this is not going to result in the destruction of the earth. The Bible states in 2 Peter 3, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
When Christ returns, that will mark the end of the world and Judgement Day. Everyone that has not had their sins paid for by the Lord Jesus will have to pay for them in the lake of fire. So Christians should be sharing the gospel with every person that will listen. From everything the Bible states, it appears that 2011 may be the year in which the Lord Jesus returns.
If you wnat further info, Google my sources. You can read it right off your computer.

Each day should be seen as a day of judgement. The choices you make should not be for self reward. These would be temporary things lasting but a blink of the eye. Instead we should use judgement in choosing things that have an impact for the greater good. No matter what your beliefs all know this existence is temporary. Either you cease to exist, go onto a higher power or return to continue. In any situation the choice of betterment for all creatures should be of value. You may have found the one issue that all can agree on no matter their faith.

That's a good question.. It's hard when there are 6 billion other people on this earth, and 5 billion of em dont give a damn and the others are just too lazy, myself included.. on an individual scale you could recycle, plant trees, pick up garbage, ride your bike instead of driving, support your local organic farmers instead of supporting the use of pesticides and other chemicals on our farm land( I know it's alot more spendy) this is also much better for you!! start with making small lifestyle changes with yourself and although it might not feel like you're making a difference, every person making an effort to take care of their mother is where it starts.. set an example and spread the word!!

Live your life like you have alot of time to live, yet live each day as if it were your last. That may help put things into perspective a bit better for you?? Just because judgement day will happen someday doesn't mean God wants us to run away and sit on top of a hill waiting for that day to happen! We're to work and occupy until He comes. So....do your best in spreading the word. If you're not good at speaking to others about it....PRAY!!! Pray without ceasing!!! Praying can help MANY people!! :-)

According to evolutionists, the planet is "billions" of years old. If that is the case, then the earth has an obvious ability to heal itself. As if puny man could truly affect it one way or the other.
Besides, I've heard this hype for decades, and nothing really changes. In the 70's it was an impending ice age. Never happened.

I didn't realize the planet was sick. Sure, we should stop as much pollution as we can and avoid making species extinct (although I'm dogmatic about this when it comes to mosquitoes) because we are dependent on the planet for such resources as food and environment, but I disagree with those who believe that Earth is analogous to an organism. (Shouldn't it have reproduced by now if it was?)

Only God heals. Considering judgment does not keep one from tending to business or assisting those within reach.
For man to consider that he can heal the planet is the height of conceit. Those who consider the judge of this universe; have always been involved in stewardship and conservation of His creation.
Perhaps your concern should be turned to the high tech, let's put 'em in cities, science is our saviour, dollar first people.

Yes, "There are some who are so heavenly-minded that they are no earthly good!" That being said, mankind did not cause global warming and cannot do much to heal it! Tree-huggers, PETA and the Sierra Club and their ilk do more to harm the planet than Christians, Catholics, Mormons, and even Jehovah's Witnesses, combined!

Judgement day is inevitable. Like humanity, the Earth is on its own course with destiny.
Besides, I wasn't aware that the planet had a "cold."
