Those of you who think you would survive longer than we Christians are sadly mistaken. Infidels are killed quickly!

april, I spent 30 days in Egypt actually. I actually know that Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are allowed. I also know that if Atheists were vehemently as vocal there as here, they would be put to death. My point is this. If Christians hate you so much as you have claimed, why then do you still have your heads? Christians try to save you body and soul. Go in peace.

It may be OK in some muslim countries. For example, Kurds have seen their aspirations for nationhood denied by Turkey, Iraq and Iran, so probably tend to think a lot of the religious talk is somewhat hypocritical. So there were communist parties in Kurdish areas which won support.
I would guess they are OK as far as they 'lie low' and outwardly conform, but it must vary a lot. I think an atheist like Dawkins who likes to irritate christians etc by attacking religion in the strongest terms here in the West would be a dead Dawkins in many muslim countries, if he acted that way there.

In Egypt it is against the law to practice any religion except Islam, Christianity, or Judaism. Atheists don't have a religion, and therefore don't practice one. They survive fine. You are mis-informed. No one checks to see what , synagogue or any other structure they attend.

I would say a little longer than someone who shouts Jesus for all to hear.
I don't live in a Muslim country, so this is just a silly hypothetical question with no relevance.

They would survive longer than any Christian would because the one's I have met and seen don't want to "offend" anyone else. A true Christian would be willing to die for what he/she believes. So yeah an atheist would live longer.

The same way we do in a Christian country....we keep our mouths shut. I live in the BIble Belt (NC), and i NEVER mention that I am an atheist unless I am asked first. Even then, I sometimes avoid it.

The same how the other thousands of non muslims sirvive in Muslim countries and the same way non-christains survive in a christain nation

Eventually I figure they would whine enough to where they get ignored, kinda like everywhere else.
It's not the fact they don't believe in God that's annoying, it's the fact that they have to use their lack of faith as a justification for putting their socks on in the mornings...loudly...and to anyone of any faith who might be in earshot peacefully trying to enjoy a cup of coffee on a lovely sunny morning.

Not so. There are very many atheists in muslim countries. They just have to remain in the closet.
