I am not a fan of the master cleanse for many reasons but one of which is that you won't have enough energy to exercise like you should.

40 pounds in one month is way too high of a goal. I think that you are going to get discouraged and stop dieting all together.

Why not just eat properly and add exercise to your diet? You would lose an average to 2-3 pounds per week. I know it's slow but you also have to realize that it's a reasonable and attainable goal.

If you were to lose 40 pounds in a month I guarantee that you would hate your body. Losing that much weight so fat would cause you to have extra skin (which looks horrible and is very expensive to get rid of since it must be surgically removed)

Why not add 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of targeted exercises to a healthy diet plan? You'll feel good and by losing slowly you won't have an extra yard of skin hanging around your middle.

Diet
Choice your food wisely
Eat grains that are labeled 100% whole what or 100% whole grains and no other grain products.
Choose non-fat dairy products or start with low fat and move down to non-fat over the first 2 weeks, if non-fat doesn't appeal to you.
Eat tons of raw and steamed veggies.
Have a large green salad during the day with the new spray on dressings (your whole salad will only be about 50 calories including dressing)
Eat lots of fresh fruit that is in season
- don't worry about the sugar content -fruit is wonderful while you are on a diet.
When choosing meat only have lean meat with all visible fat removed and if you eat chicken don't eat the skin.
Always have breakfast! This is very important. I have a smoothie for breakfast which has
1 serving whey powder, 1 container lite or fat free yogurt, 1/2 banana or other fruits, 8 ounces skim milk, 1/4 cup cooked plain oatmeal (i cook it the night before, make a few servings and then just add to my smoothie in the morning) and a few ice cubes.

The smoothie is low calorie, low fat, high in protein, anti-oxidants and calcium and keeps your energy level high for hours. It will also fill you up for hours.

Drink plenty of pure water during the day to wash the waste and toxins out of your body. You can also drink a few cups of tea to help boost your metabolism a bit.

The above diet is so much healthier for you and will give you the energy to exercise and burn fat.

Not to dissapoint you, but losing 40 pounds in one month is medically unhealthy. I bet you could do atleast 20-28 in a month..but anymore might make you sick! At most, I'd say a month and a half - two months and you'll be 40 pounds less! Hope this helps! :)

Good luck! :)

No. And even if by some odd chance you did it would be an unhealthy loss that would come right back on you.

i suppose anything is possible, but that doesn't sound safe. in most cases where people lose weight rapidly they end up gaining it back.
