Here are my final standings.

1. Jeff Gordon (this is his year, he's a new father, and he has been very consistent and those wins help too)
2. Jimmie Johnson (those wins are going to help him but he's having some problems)
3. Denny Hamlin ( I think that if he keeps on blaming his crew and being there at the beginning but making mistakes wont help him)
4. Matt Kenseth (somehow he is usually very consistent which pays off at the end)
5. Tony Stewart (He hasn't been there this season and is getting a little frustrated wiht no wins, but he could end up being higher in the standings)
6. Dale Earnhardt Jr. ( I think that he will bounce back from those 100 points being docked)
7. Ryan Newman (He is making a rebound and those poles are sure helping him)
8. Clint Bowyer (He's having a decent season with some good runs, just not the finishes he needs)
9. Martin Truex Jr. ( I think that the one win wont help him really in the long run, but he's having a better season)
10. Jamie McMurray (He has really turned his season around and is getting some momentum)
11. Kevin Harvick (He is just really really struggling)
12. Jeff Burton ( I think that he is a hit and miss, some days he's good and some days he's bad. I think that he will be higher up just don't know where.)

Those are the drivers, I'm thinking, and Kyle Busch probably won't make it, but I am pretty sure that the top 5 are going to be like that possibly..

As far as in the top 12, Gordon will be in there and Johnson as well. The current top 10 will be in there... the last two depends on Boyer, Jr., and Newman. Jr has almost a 200 point lead on McMurray. As long as Jr. can keep it together, the only real threat is from Newman at about 135 points away. But even if Jr struggles a little, McMurray would have to have a great run to gain the ground of 200 points and Newman would as well. A DNF would certainly hurt Jr. but to really capitalize McMurray and/or Newman would have to have a top 5 or 10 finish. Anything else, Jr. comes in 39th for example and Newman's and McMurray's average finish this season has been 19th... Jr still ahead in the points.

So the current 10 are pretty guaranteed. It really is the last two spots that might find Newman or McMurrray in and Jr. and or Bowyer out. Busch has a chance of fading but probably not out of the 12.

1) Jimmie Johnson (he will peak when it's "go time")
2) Jeff Gordon (it will be close)
3) Tony Stewart (he gets hot at the end)
4) Matt Kenseth (always consistent)
5) Denny Hamlin (could win it all though?)
6) Jeff Burton (nice and smooth)
7) Clint Bowyer (had a bad week but looked good so far)
8) Carl Edwards (good lately but Roush is lagging in COT)
9) Dale Earnhardt Jr (will do better at HMS next year)
10) Kevin Harvick (lost the early season momentum)
11) Kyle Busch (if he settles down he could do better?)
12) Ryan Newman (running good lately, should sneak in)

Bowyer could just be wishful thinking (I have him on my fantasy team) but the RCR cars have looked good. I still think he will win a race before the year is done. If he slips Truex will make the chase instead of him.

First of all, I think the Chase is bullcrap. How can you take all the points a guy earned during the year and toss them out so that some dips who didn't have thier s*** together, have a chance to win the cup. Sucks. That ain't racing and they don't do that in any other SPORT. As for who will be there, Gordon, Johnson, Little E, Hambone the cryer, and a few wanta be's.

Let's start by saying the so-called "chase" is BULLSHITE. Same as the top 35 being locked in for races! It used to be racing when you had to qualify to race.
Last, whomever came up with the "lucky dog" must be a vegetarian.
