It depends upon what you mean by faith. If you mean faith in the religious sense, then no it is not at all dependent upon faith. It is true whether you are Christian, Buddhist, Jain or Atheist.
If you mean faith as in you have faith that the universe will continue working the way it worked yesterday, then yes. All of us take it for granted that the Earth will continue in its orbit and the Sun will remain stable. As such, there will be morning daily for the rest of my life. That is really faith. My model of the Universe is presuming the absence of a catastrophic intersection of the Earth and a body large enough to knock it out of its orbit. It also assumes that there will not be an intersection large enough to cause a mass extinction which would include my death. That is sort of faith because it is somewhat incorrect to extrapolate from prior regressions.
Just a note, we are not evolved from apes, apes share a common ancestor with us. They are cousins.

No matter how many times you fundies make the claim that evolution is a religion, that will not make it so. I realize that this concept is outside of your experience, but it really is possible to accept the overwhelming scientific evidence for something without resorting to what you call "faith". And the only people who claim scientists say that we 'come from ape' are fundies like yourself. What scientists say is that humans and the OTHER APES all have a common ancestor. And that ultimately, all life has a common ancestor.

IMO, "Faith" is needed for every action we take.
We need "Faith" that the sun will come up tomorrow. Without this we would get no sleep and spend our time saying "Good-bye" to each other living in fear.
We need "Faith" that Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. The true "Doubting Thomas" out there say that this was filmed in a Hollywood studio and the shadows prove that mankind did not walk on the moon. (BTW, I do believe we sent man to the moon).
Evolution also needs faith ... we can scientifically measure fossils, and stuff ... but since we didn't witness it with our own two eyes over the billions of years ... we can only really conclude what happened.

There's a belief called theistic evilution. That means they believe in evolution AND creation.
My point is not to convince you which way to believe. See, when people get caught up in "sides" and "Whose right," objectivity goes out the window. It becomes more about prooving something (ego) than a quest for truth.
When someone has an opinion different than mine, I don't consider it the end of the world.

Human chromosome 2 is evidence that we did evolve from other hominids. Other members of hominidae have 24 chromosomes, while humans have 23. The fact that chromosome 2 looks like it resulted from the fusion of 2 chromosomes explains this. It does not prove evolution on it's own, but it is simply another piece of evidence in support of it.

Evolution does not say 'we may come from ape'. Do some research.
Evolution is about science, known facts, and formulated speculation. Faith implies nothing of science, nothing about facts, faith is wishful thinking based on faerie tales.

The evidence for evolution is too powerful. And is growing. It is not a matter of faith, but simply education. The molecular evidence, which is independent of the anatomic evidence, is overwhelming.

it is not faith based, faith requires no evidence whereas evolution does and more than adequately provides us with that evidence
evolution is both fact and theory
if you doubt it or are unsure of the evidence, I'd strongly recommend reading a few biology books, especially, genetics and taxonomy :)

Nope, it's based on observation of the real world. Not depending on a so-called holy book, the theory itself is open to evolution.

no, evolution has evidence to support it. One does not require faith in the face of huge amounts of evidence. Not only do we share a common ancestor with apes, we share 97% of our DNA with apes. Humans are apes.
