Road trip games?

Question

This is a little desperate, but I need something entertaining to do for myself and probably 1 other person...maybe 2, on an upcoming 2400 mile road trip... The problem with games is that I will be driving the entire time, so they have to be verbal only. I guess it doesn't have to be games either, last time I bought some comedy cds and that really helped make the trip go by faster...well at least for a few hours. Any ideas?

Last time we tried a few of the common games like the abc game and the spot all 50 states license plate game, but I'll tell you now, it was so boring. Its going to be myself- I'm 24, my grandmother who's 67...and maybe my mother, she's 47. These kind of games might be fun if you're playing with the right people, but trust me they will be telling me to shut up in about an hour... I really need some good ideas, I can't listen to them talk the entire time...it would be torture.

Punch Buggy; I'm Going to the Mall and I'm gonna buy a (start with something that starts with the letter a and then the next person list what you said and something with b and then you list a & b and something with c and etc. etc. Until someone messes it up and they're the loser :P); Eye Spy; The Radio Game (where you ask a question and then push seek on the radio and whatever song is playing, it's lyrics are basically your answer...very dependable except in all cases of love. :) ); License Plate game (the one where you gotta find a license plate from every state though); etc. etc. The list goes on.

Some of our favorites are Eye Spy, the ABC game (way we play is - Some one starts by saying Where you going? then next person says Alabama, questioner asks How you getting there, answere Airplane, questioner What are going to do when you get there? Answerer Eat Apples. Each answer must have that letter in it.) Do this for the entire alphabet each taking turns. It can be fun and take a while.

Last time I took a road trip, I drove from Boston to FL. One thing that kept us occupied the WHOLE time was playing name that tune.

I have a HUGE collection of music on itunes... I brought my computer, plugged it into the radio (the cassette adapter works fine) and put it on shuffle. Tons of fun. A lot of oldies were in there, a lot of new stuff, a lot of songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's.... and then whoever lost ten would have to refill our cooler. We were pretty bored, obviously, but it was a ton of fun.

Of course Mad Libs and Eye Spy works well too, but short lived...

hmmmm, the first one to spot a certain colour car/van/bike
theres that linking game where you say one word, then the next person says something to do with the last one (i.e. fish, bowl, fruit... and so on)
hmmmmmmmmm, 2400 green bottles of beer on the wall
HMMMMMMMMMMM... download some games on your phone... ....

hmmmmmmmm maybe you could stay up for 24 hours before and sleep during the journey....

Play the sign sport....What you do is initiate with the letter A and pass interior the direction of the alphabet from there....so which you initiate with A...seek for a demonstration that has the letter A on it....once you get that letter pass to B etc...You cant use any letters interior the motor vehicle yet you ought to use them off of liscense plates and diesels and each sign available. Its a very relaxing sport....even if it gets stressful while there are not any indicators around! have relaxing!

hmmm... abc game... start with A and find something on the road, then go to B. Listen to old cds that used to be like really popular like nysnc and backstreet boys and spice girls... stuff like that
