Eat smaller meals every three hours. 300 calories for an average male 50:40:10 ratio Protein:Carbs:Fat. Omit the carbs every other meal. If you can remove as much Sodium (salt) as possible you will notice resuls much quick. Sodium causes water retention and you won't get that cut look with too much in your system. Protein- Tuna,Chicken,Turkey,Protein Powder, Egg Whites, Whitefish, Lean Beef. Carbs- Oatmeal, Berries, Apples, Sweet Potatoes, Fats, Most will come from the proteins themselves so don't worry about it but if you want to add some nuts or CLA that would be fine.

Eat foods high in protein and low in carbs. Protein tricks your body into thinking you are getting much more food than you actually are, and it speeds up your metabolism greatly. It is also essential in building and keeping muscle. Carbs supply you with lots of quick energy, most of which is stored as fat. Avoid things like beer and pasta and go for things like tuna or salmon with rice or grilled chicken breast. Red meats are okay once in a while , but they tend to be greasy. Eat small portions throughout the day instead of a few bigger meals.

You need to restrict your carbohydrates, carbs are your bodys preferred fuel, as long as you have carbs available the liver will have stores of glycogen and it is these stores you burn for energy. Depleting your glycogen stores can be accomplished through exercise, exercise physiologists estimates these stores at about 20 minutes worth, now they think it may be more like 30 minutes. So for the first 30 minutes of your exercise session you are not burning any fat, this is why restricting your carbs in the first place can be a good strategy. As to low calorie diets, I would not recommend these as they will only make your metabolism more efficient and make you fatter in the long run.

meats you should have a proper amount like 2-4 servings.
the meats you eat should have a high quality protein such as eggs, fish and chicken.
you should not eat pasta but for carbs eat wheat bread.
when on a diet esp for abs eat lots fo fiber, liquids, fruit, protein and absolutely no processed sugar.
sugar substitue is ok but it causes you to retain water much like salt and makes your abs harder to see.
