I went from bartending 7 days a week to a regular 8-5. I am stuck in the office 5-6 days a week for 9 or more hours. Are there any excersices that can be done sitting in a chair without actually having to get down on the ground and do sit ups?!? I just need to feel like I am doing something.

There are a few things you can do. Practice good posture; straighten out your back and engage your abs while seated at your desk. Rather than constantly emailing your employees, get up from your desk and go talk to them as often as possible. When going to work in the morning, park a few blocks away and walk. Use the stairs rather than the elevator if you are only climbing a few flights.

It's easy to be active while bartending, isn't it? :) My recommendation to you is Deskercise!

it's easy to work things like your core and hip flexors at your desk and everything else is covered in these two articles. Hope this helps!

here are a couple of sites with exercises. try to get up and take short walks when you have breaks. I just typed in "exercise at your desk" and got lots of hits.

We have a gym in my workplace and the trainer just told me about these. They really help. :)

Good luck! :)

check out "isometrics" on the Yahoo search engine. You can sit in place and then just tighten and release your muscles.
