In my university there were three concentrations for AE majors:
Aeronautics : Designing planes, reviewing their aerodynamic capabilities, stuctures, etc...
Astronautics: Designing rockets, launch capabilites, orbital trek, etc...
Propulsion: Designing air-breathing systems, determining input, output and performance capabilites.

All engineers took Physics, Calculus, CATIAv5 drafting, Airplane Structures, Thermodynamics, Fluids, Solids, Statics, Jets and Rockets, Orbital Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Materials as well as other classes.
